What material is 347 stainless steel
347 stainless steel
Grade 347 stainless steel is a stable alloy because it contains columbium + tantalum components. 347 stainless steel is ideal for long service life at high temperatures (800-1500ºF) and is resistant to intergranular corrosion in the chrome carbide precipitation range. High creep and stress fracture characteristics are part of its excellent mechanical properties.

347 stainless steel is ideal for many high-temperature aviation applications, including aircraft component manufacturing, such as aircraft heat collecting rings and exhaust pipes. Other applications where 347 stainless steel is selected include boilers, exhaust manifolds, jet engine parts, large engine mufflers and a variety of other welded parts.
